Set clocks to speed and style.
One of the most famous Porsche models as of late is the Carrera GT. The supercar showcased the brand’s latest and greatest motorsport technology and was just about as raw as you could get with a car of its nature. It is notoriously difficult to drive but incredibly rewarding when it’s under control. Helping to manage the insane power on this white Porsche Carrera GT are a new set of HRE P101 forged wheels.
Everything about the Porsche Carrera GT was designed for maximum performance. Its roots are traced back to the brand’s motorsport programs and it was only right that its wheels matched its heritage. For this application a new set of HRE P101 forged wheels were chosen. The P1-Series in the HRE Performance Wheels lineup draws much of its design and construction from the same HRE wheels used in championship-winning vehicles.
The HRE P101 forged wheels were designed for maximum strength but retain a considerably low overall weight thanks to their forged aluminum construction. This, and their staggered setup make taming the mid-mounted, 5.7-liter V-10 producing 612 horsepower a little bit easier.
The Porsche Carrera GT is almost never short on power, and the HRE P101 forged wheels were installed in a staggered setup to help accommodate. Up front, the gloss black finished wheels were installed in a 9.5 x 19 size while the rear comes in at a massive 12.5 x 20 fitment. Of course, each wheel sports the corresponding red (driver’s-side) or blue (passenger’s side) center-locking mechanism as with the factory setup.
The notorious German beast may never be fully controlled, but a truly skilled hand and HRE Wheels make for a white-knuckled driving treat.
