It’s no secret that the Audi S3 isn’t as fast, exclusive, or as powerful as its RS 3 sibling. That doesn’t mean that aftermarket tuners like ABT Sportsline can’t make it just as (if not more) powerful than its five-cylinder sibling. The new ABT Sportsline Audi S3 sedan can go hot and even hotter depending on how fast you want to go thanks to some tuning and other goodies.
“With our specially developed ABT Power New Generation control unit the RS3 falls short not only in body length,“ said CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt. That’s a mighty tongue-in-cheek statement but it isn’t false.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder with 296 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque, stock gets a boost thanks to the ABT Power software tune. This first stage of fun gives the S3 a mighty 370 horsepower and 339 lb-ft. of torque – right in line with the RS 3. The ABT Power S then ups things to 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. for a mighty good time. Both tunes can be paired up with the ABT exhaust system that includes a pre-pipe and sport catalytic converter, ending in a stainless steel muffler with black-chrome tailpipes for better exhaust gas flow.
But ABT Sportsline didn’t just focus on going faster in a straight line with the Audi S3 sedan. The German Audi specialists added on a set of their front and rear anti-roll bars to help tighten things up for better handling. They also give the option for ER-C, DR, or CR alloy wheels in a variety of 18-, 19-, or 20-inch sizes, with the featured being the 20-inch FR alloys with corresponding sport tires for even more grip.
Visually, the ABT Sportsline Audi S3 stands out from the rest of the pack with a few visual upgrades. A new ABT front grille and fender inserts give its added power away, while a new skirt set at the rear surrounds the new set of quad black chrome-plated tailpipes.
Inside, the ABT Sportsline Audi S3 sports a set of new floor mats and integrated entrance lights for that extra special touch at night. The start-stop button was also swapped out for a new ABT logo unit.
The new ABT Sportsline Audi S3 sedan is currently available as an entire package or as individual accessories. Customers can also opt for the ABT Power or ABT Power S software tunes depending on how much power they desire.
