This is what happens when tuning companies get involved with football.
Football, or soccer as it’s referred to in the US, is unquestionably the most popular sport in the world. With the new European Football Championship being played this year, MTM is getting into the mix and supporting their country with a new Audi Q3 tuning program.
The new MTM Audi Q3 2.0 TFSI has gone from SUV to Power SUV, or a “PSUV” as it’s known by the German tuner. The entire PSUV can be given a red, black, and gold foiling as a nod to the upcoming European Football Championship. The new Audi Q3 tuning program doesn’t just proudly wear the country’s colors, but effectively shows MTM’s commitment to excellence. “If you want to play in the top league, you better drive in the top league”, said MTM boss, Roland Mayer.
The standard 2.0 TFSI turbocharged engine was given a healthy dose of power and the rest of the PSUV was upgraded for more dynamic handling. In stock form, the SUV comes with 170 horsepower. After MTM’s Audi Q3 tuning program, the 2.0 TFSI pumps out 310 horsepower. A full exhaust system designed for the turbocharger system also comes standard as part of the upgrade package. The additional horsepower helps the Q3 reach 62 mph in 6.1 seconds – a full two ticks faster than stock. Top speed is also pushed back from the standard 131 mph to just under 155 mph.
MTM upgraded the chassis of the Q3 with in-house nine-spoke forged wheels and a tuned suspension. The lighter, forged wheels each wear sportier 255/35 ZR20 tires for better grip in the corners. MTM lowered the suspension to reduce the center of gravity and give the PSUV a more athletic stance. Finishing off the upgrade package is a rear diffuser that helps to optimize the PSUV’s aerodynamics at higher speeds.
The MTM Audi Q3 tuning program is currently available from the German company for 59,000 Euros (+/- 78,600 USD). The optional black, gold, and red foiling costs 1,850 Euros (+/- 2,400 USD) and is included in the overall price.
