Conquering the Outback.
The future of outdoor camping and expedition is looking very bright and green. British designer, Garryd Howells, has created the new Walamai Outback Explorer Expedition that is designed to conquer the Australian Outback in 2025.
The future Walamai Outback Explorer Expedition design concept was created to be an environmentally friendly and affordable way for people to explore and camp in the Australian Ouback. The vehicle will available for rent only, allowing a greater demographic to discover the famous wildlife and terrain Down Under.
The Walamai Outback Explorer Expedition will feature room for four adults and be capable of traveling through various off-road terrains. An electric motor will power the vehicle and can be recharged through the use of an innovative kite system that captures power from the jet stream to turn an electro-magnet inside. Various camping and outdoor equipment such as a winch cable, inflatable tent and a unique pheromone device is integrated into the rear wheels to ward off dangerous animals.
The Walamai Outback Explorer Expedition design concept has not been officially slated for future production, but is an interesting concept in the future of outdoor recreation. The vehicle is designed only for rental use, but can be personalized with additions such as a surfboard mount for individual purposes.
