Forget the Black Series…how about a BlackEdition?
The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class may not be a hardcore sports car (unless it’s the Black Series) but Prior Design doesn’t care because it’s giving owners the option to purchase a hard-nosed widebody kit for the Grand Tourer. The new Prior Design BlackEdition V2 widebody kit is designed for the R230-generation models after MQPF II (2008 and up) and makes the sports car something to watch out for on the road.
The BlackEdition V2 widebody kit for the Mercedes-Benz SL is aerodynamically optimized and constructed from Dura-Flex FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) that is easy to paint and offers good strength characteristics. All of the components can be easily installed and don’t require modification due to their OEM-quality design.
But enough of the highly-quality stuff; the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class with the BlackEdition V2 widebody kit looks like it’s ready to take over the racetrack and flex its muscles. So let’s get to the good stuff!
The new BlackEdition V2 widebody equips the sports car with a new front bumper with add-on spoiler and special flics to generate downforce and send a generous amount of cool air into the engine bay and brakes. The SL also benefits from new black mesh inserts and a new ventilated hood on its revised front fascia. Wider front and rear fenders extend from the body like bulging muscles and are connected by a pair of skirts that calm the airflow around the wheel wells. Seamlessly meshing with the extended rear fenders is an upgraded bumper with an integrated diffuser to help keep its wider butt planted on the road at high speeds. As an option, Prior Design will also install a BlackEdition trunk spoiler for the extra flair and downforce.
The new BlackEdition V2 widebody aerodynamic kit for the Mercedes-Benz SL (R23) is currently available for 12,900.00 €, with the optional rear spoiler costing an additional 599.00 €. Mounting material and the TÜV parts certificate is included.
