Because everything is better with a supercharged V-8.
If you don’t remember the G-Power G1 V8 Hurricane RS that we featured we’re sorry. No, we’re really sorry. What you missed was the debut of not just any modified, tuned, and upgraded BMW 1 Series M Coupe, but a SUPERCHARGED V8-POWERED BMW 1 SERIES M COUPE.
Only 30 examples of the car will be produced to correspond with the 30-year Anniversary of G-Power and cost 141,176.80 Euros. Oh, did we mention that it’s also the fastest 1 M Coupe in the world?
Beneath the hood lies an M3-sourced 4.0-liter V8 engine with a vibrant orange cast aluminum air box and ASA supercharger system strapped on and pumping out boost. The new engine creates a whopping 600 hp at 7,800 RPM and 428 lb-ft. (580 Nm) at 3,900 RPM, rocketing the coupe to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and to a top speed of over 205.05 mph (330 km/h).
Thankfully, Christian Gebhardt of sport auto magazine was able to strap in and give us a look at just how powerful, dynamic, and fast the first G1 V8 Hurricane RS prototype is. While the prototype has an electronically-limited 195.11 mph (314 km/h) top speed, it still is a ball of fun waiting to be unleashed.
