Throwing it down in the pits.
If you were watching football instead of NASCAR, you missed one of the most entertaining races of the year. At the AdvoCare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer swapped paint, dropped the gloves, and had their crews involved in quite an altercation.
For a second, viewers may have thought they were watching Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby as two teams were throwing it down. On the second-to-last lap, Gordon ran Bowyer into the wall to retaliate for an incident that happened earlier in the race. Gordon was able to drive his car back to the pits where he and his crew fought with Bowyer’s crew. After Bowyer was able to get back to the pits, he ran after Gordon to get a piece of him but was held back and unable to fight.
One of the best parts is the NSFW interview with Brian Pattie, Crew Chief for Clint Bowyer.
It’s old-school racing with a bit of WWE thrown in there, and we’re expecting NASCAR to come down hard on both teams. Get your popcorn ready!
