Some classic engine tuning for Volkswagen’s hot hatch.
2006 marked the 30-year anniversary of the Volkswagen GTI; a car that changed the automotive landscape and was one of the first “hot hatches”. To commemorate 30 years of building the exciting car that has an incredible cult-like following, Volkswagen unveiled a 30th Anniversary GTI that features a number of unique design elements as well as some performance upgrades and a 230 horsepower engine. O.CT Tuning has unveiled a new performance program specifically for owners of the 30th Anniversary Edition model and it packs quite a punch.
Three different stages of engine tuning are available for customers from O.CT Tuning that help push the output well past the 300 horsepower mark. The 2.0 TFSI engine is loaded with potential and the German tuning company was able to tap into it with a range of new modifications.
Depending on the level of upgrades, the O.CT Tuning GTI can be fitted with an in-house intercooler with modified air induction system that utilizes a motorsports air intake, a new set of spark plugs, and altered fuel injection system. A 76 mm racing turbo-back exhaust without catalytic converters drastically reduces backpressure for quicker spooling time. A new ECU tune alters all of the ignition, timing, fuel injection, and more to bring output all the way up to 365 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. of torque and make it a red-hot hatch. All of these upgrades are covered by a carbon fiber engine and battery cover pack.
All that provides for a thrilling driving experience but O.CT Tuning was not done. The car is often criticized for its ride height was equipped with an in-house V3 coilover suspension system that lowers the ride height for better handling and a flusher look.
All of the products in the O.CT Tuning GTI 30th Anniversary Edition model are currently available as part of a three-stage package or as individual pieces. Pricing for each stage and product has not been released.
