Stuttgart’s latest super car.
While Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren were battling it out on stage at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche went a little bit under the radar with the unveiling of their new 991-generation 911 GT3. The new track day special takes the new 991 platform to a new extreme, one designed for maximum race car-like performance.
The new 911 GT3 model is pretty special. It is faster around the Nürburgring than the 997 911 GT2, has a 9,000 RPM redline, and produces 475 horsepower for an impressive 125 hp/liter output. It can go 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and has a lightning-fast PDK dual-clutch transmission standard.
But there’s more to it; there’s a design that evokes emotion and oozes passion. It draws from the company’s motorsport programs and features all sorts of functional body work that make it ever so potent on the race track. Michael Mauer, Director of Porsche Style, goes into detail regarding the new design at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and has us all excited to see this bad boy on the track.
