More Power + Better Efficiency = More Fun
G-Power has had quite the history when it comes to supercharging BMW models. Their expertise in forced induction technology has led to high-quality upgrade programs packed with performance. Their latest supercharger upgrade is for the BMW M3 GTS, and updates the original supercharger M3 GTS program unveiled in 2011.
This time around, the supercharged M3 GTS is more efficient and power than before, giving drivers a meaty power band thanks to some hardcore engineering that involved Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. The new supercharger system is nicknamed the GTS SK II “Sporty Drive“ TU, with the “TU” standing for “technical update”. All of the air intake and fuel systems have been created from scratch or completely redesigned in-house by G-Power to create a more efficient design.
The new “technical update” includes a new modified air intake with a larger racing air filter that offers a greater air flow, and is more durable and dust-resistant than the previous model. The enlarged air intake allows G-Power to use the radial ASA T1-523 mechanical supercharger, compared to the original ASA T1-522 supercharger used before. Additionally, G-Power installs another fuel pump with an ECU map-controlled activation on the 4.4-liter V-8, along with a full ECU software remap. The new modifications allow for the system to be easily installed and virtually eliminate any lag in boost pressure.
The new GTS SK II “Sporty Drive“ TU BMW M3 GTS is capable of producing 650 horsepower at 7,800 RPM and 465 lb-ft. of torque at 3,900 RPM. This allows the M3 GTS to accelerate to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds and to 124 mph in just 11.8 seconds, with 62 to 124 mph taking 2.2 seconds less than the stock M3. Top speed is pushed all the way back to 200.7 mph.
Although the main focus for G-Power was the new supercharger system on the BMW M3 GTS, they took steps to improve the performance of the entire sports car. G-Power teamed up with the brake specialists at Mov’it to create a custom ceramic-carbon high-performance system that eliminates fade and improves stopping times, all while reducing weight by 50-percent. The setup consists of six-piston calipers with 396 mm discs up front and four-piston, 396 mm discs at the rear.
The final modification made to the M3 GTS was a new wheel and tire setup. The sports car can be fitted with a set of 20-inch G-Power Silverstone CS wheels with Michelin tires that measure 255/30 ZR 20 up front and 295/25 ZR 20 at the rear.
G-Power’s newest GTS SK II “Sporty Drive“ TU for the BMW M3 GTS is available for 23,500 Euros plus installation, while the wheel and tire setup is priced at 7,437 Euros. The high-performance brake setup can be installed for 14,460 Euros at the front axle and 11,778 Euros at the rear.
