OK-Chiptuning has been heavily involved in tuning cars since the German company was founded in 2004. Now, almost ten years later, they’re taking their expertise to the legendary Audi R8. Their newest experiment in power, dubbed the “Black Panther” for its shimmering black color scheme, lies down a healthy dose of power and performance with a few simple modifications.
Being specialists in the realm of ECU software optimization, it was only logical that the OK-Chiptuning team started things off there. The 5.2-liter V-10 spits out an impressive 525 horsepower in stock form, but the German company had bigger things in mind. They were able to install a new ECU tune that altered a number of variables along with a new stainless steel flap-controlled exhaust system that reduces backpressure. These two modifications help the mighty 5.2-liter V-10 create a total of 620 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque. In addition to the engine tune, OK-Chiptuning enlisted the help of Kai Uwe OTTLINGHAUS to tune the R-Tronic gearbox to reduce shift times and improve acceleration even further.
The Audi R8 5.2 R-Tronic proudly wears its factory Phantom Black Metallic paint, giving it a menacing look. To add to the killer presence, OK-Chiptuning painted the front radiator grille in Phantom Black Metallic and installed a set of rear taillights from the R8 GT. The team also installed a new carbon fiber front spoiler lip and rear diffuser to improve aerodynamics and live up to the Black Panther name.
To give the Black Panther Audi R8 5.2 a little more agility as it hunts down its super car prey, OK-Chiptuning installed a new set of KW Automotive magnetic coilovers that allows the car to adjust to different road conditions in fractions of a second.
The Audi R8 5.2 upgrade program with carbon fiber body work, suspension upgrades, and engine and transmission tunes are all available for customers of the Audi R8 5.2 in coupe or spyder form.
