The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Hill Climb Special.
Pikes Peak International Hillclimb is a fantastic race that encompasses 12.42 miles up the side of a mountain, thousands of feet above sea level. But it’s not for everyone as you either need balls of steel or have to be completely mad in order to drive your car all-out up the mountain.
What do we mean? Well, just imagine driving along a cold mountain road with nothing stopping you from driving right off the side, down a cliff, and to almost certain death. Now imagine doing it in a 500+ horsepower car with a turbo spooling up as you’re being thrown into your seat and the tires are struggling for grip.
That’s exactly what this little preview from the team over at Drive has put together. It shows Jeff Zwart testing his 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Hill Climb Special, modified for the high-altitude track at 12,000 feet in the top section of the track. He’s either crazy or has balls of steel, and we wish we had one of those.
