One of the greatest road races in history.
The Isle of Mann TT is an incredibly fast and exciting, but very dangerous motorcycle race held every year in the Isle of Man. The time trial race has been taking place since 1907 and involves racers riding down short, narrow public roads oftentimes surrounded by stone walls and crowds cheering them onwards.
The Isle of Man TT is one of the hardest races as it pushes riders to their very limits, oftentimes resulting in injury or even death. Since 2000, there have been 43 rider deaths, with this year’s race seeing the unfortunate passing of Yoshinari Matsushita during qualifying. This death toll continues to cast a dark shadow over the race, to the point where there are calls to end the race for good.
As dangerous as it is, the race continues to draw thousands of spectators and the best-of-the-best in motorcycle riders as they vie for a spot on the podium of the legendary Isle of Man TT. This year, John McGuinness was able to achieve his 20th TT Race Win, 41st TT Race Podium with a 17:11.572 time and 131.671 mph average speed.
