The Bentley Continental and its new V-8 engine are not short on power and luxury, and offer a smooth way to get to triple-digit speeds. But they don’t seem to have that hard-edged presence and the team at ONYX Concept is looking to change that with their newest Bentley GTVX.
The new Bentley GTVX by ONYX Concept is nothing short of a brutal luxury rocketship that isn’t afraid to flex its muscles. The changes start under the hood where the new twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine gets a big boost in power. The Irish company developed a full engine upgrade program that pushes output all the way to 600 bhp. This enables the all-wheel drive cruiser to reach 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds flat.
Things only get more exciting from there. The power produced by the engine is reflected throughout the new, 30 mm wider wheelbase and full carbon fiber/polycarbonate body kit. The lightweight kit combines an aerodynamically-optimized wind tunnel shape with a muscular and brawny appearance.
The front fascia of the car looks like it was built for speed as opposed to the smooth-shaped stock model. A new front bumper, larger air intakes, and a ventilated hood add some testosterone to the Bentley GTVX. ONYX Concept also added new flared fenders at the front and rear axles that are connected by a pair of side skirts. A sculpted rear bumper with integrated trapezoidal exhaust tips sculpts the super coupe’s butt even further. A subtle trunk spoiler sits atop of a large ONYX logo across the trunk of the Bentley Continental, to remind those behind how special the car is in front of them.
Filling in those extended wheel arches on the ONYX Concept Bentley GTVX are a new set of 22-inch flow forged wheels that can be finished in a variety of colors or even complete carbon fiber. A 10 mm lower ride height helps them to sit flush with the newly designed body work.
Inside, the same level of handcrafted luxury and comfort will be offered by ONYX Concept and their bespoke interior department. Customers can choose from a virtually limitless array of options to create their own unique driving atmosphere.
The ONYX Concept Bentley GTVX will be available in 2014 as a complete package.
