Brightening a little girl’s day with a hot pink Lamborghini.
There’s something special about the automotive world and the enthusiasts that are a part of it. The passion for automobiles transcends race, sex, age, and any other kind of demographic classification across the globe. The passion for these machines often brings enthusiasts together to support others that are in need.
Emilia is only 8-years-old and she has been battling a rare lung condition that requires her to be stuck at a hospital. Being an automotive enthusiast and lover of all things pink, her one biggest wish was to go for a ride in a bright pink Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 driven by BBC Top Gear’s Richard Hammond.
Thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity, a special organization in the U.K. that helps give children with serious or life-limiting illnesses the chance to get away from their everyday stresses by fulfilling one of their wishes, Emilia was able to get a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
So, Rays of Sunshine teamed up with H R Owen for the Lamborghini Aventador and the car customizing team at Yiannamize who temporarily resprayed the supercar bright pink. The vibrant car was then transported to the Shobdon Aerodrome’s airstrip, while Richard Hammond was flown in via helicopter to pick up the supercar and drive it to meet Emilia.
Before Hammond arrived, Emilia was allowed to leave the hospital and was transported to her home in an ambulance where she met Hammond at the door. The two went for a drive to the airstrip in the pink Aventador and did a few high-speed runs that put a smile on Emilia’s face. After the trip, she was given a pink Lamborghini shirt to match the car as well as a box of Lamborghini cupcakes to enjoy.
