Ten-second muscle car? Check.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has dropped jaws, opened eyes, and popped eardrums ever since it was first unveiled. What was originally thought to be an impressive 600+ horsepower muscle car has turned into a 707-horsepower muscle car from hell that will stop the rotation of the world with its sheer strength.
And the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat just keeps on adding to its legendary status. With the magic red key fob, the muscle car is capable of achieving some serious quarter-mile times.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was able to fly through the quarter-mile with a National Hot Rod Association-certified time of 11.2 seconds at 125 mph. That’s on the factory Pirelli P275/40ZR20 tires. When a set of drag radials are thrown on, that Detroit muscle is capable of doing the same sprint in 10.8 seconds at 126 mph.
The new Challenger is the prototypical straight-line, classic muscle car of the modern era. The Hellcat fits this even more, with its supercharged, big-displacement 6.2-liter V-8 engine producing a whopping 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft. of torque, sent through the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions.
In a time where fuel efficiency and hybrids are starting to dominate even the performance car marketplace, it’s nice to see that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat stick to the traditional big-displacement, high-power, straight-line performance formula of a true muscle car.
