The world’s fastest sedan, actually.
Cadillac’s CTS-V has blended classic raw muscle car performance with a luxury package since 2004. Over 10 years later, the new, third-generation CTS-V is sticking with the same successful formula and providing the horsepower fanatics at Hennessey Performance with the perfect platform for the world’s fastest four-door sedan. Dubbed the HPE1000, the new twin-turbocharged Cadillac CTS-V by Hennessey Performance is going to lay down the rubber and speed to infinity and beyond.
“A couple of years ago, the State of Texas gave us the opportunity to test one of our specially tuned CTS-Vs – our VR1200 Twin Turbo coupe. It ran 221 mph (356 km/h) on State Highway 130, near the Circuit of the Americas”, said company founder, John Hennessey. “It was still pulling on when we ran out of road. I believe that our 2016 Twin Turbo CTS-V will have a top speed approaching 240 mph (386 km/h)”.
Armed with experience from their previous-generation VR1200 CTS-V packing 1,226 bhp, the team at Hennessey Performance is more than ready and willing to get to work on the third-generation CTS-V. The factory 6.2-liter engine will see its supercharger replaced with a pair of turbochargers along with new forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods and crankshaft, custom HPE camshafts, ported cylinder heads, dual wastegates, air-to-air intercooler, dual K&N air filters, full fuel system upgrade, stainless steel inlet piping, stainless steel exhaust system, and loads of other modifications. That’s good for a whopping 1,000 bhp at 6,500 RPM.
“I’ve owned and driven several Cadillac CTS-Vs over the past 5 years”, said John. “I love the practicality and the ease of driving these cars every day. They are also a great platform from which we can create our own special 4-door supercar.”
In order to ensure that the HPE100 CTS-V can handle all of that power, new monoblock forged wheels and carbon ceramic brakes are also added on along with a widebody kit. Customers will also be able to add on a few interior upgrades for the complete performance package.
Only 24 examples of the four-door supercar are planned for the 2016 model-year Cadillac CTS-V from Hennessey Performance. New 750-800 horsepower examples utilizing the factory supercharger are also planned alongside the HPE100 CTS-V.
