Where flying to 200 mph is a breeze.
During the summer of 2012, Bentley unveiled their new Continental GT Speed – the fastest production model to ever roll off the factory line from Crewe. Almost two years later, they’ve upped the ante at the Geneva Motor Show with a more powerful version that’s even faster.
The new 2015 Bentley Continental GT Speed has been given a power boost to push that top speed back even further. The mighty twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine gets a bump to 626 bhp and 605 lb-ft. of torque, up 10 ponies and 15 lb-ft. of torque compared to its predecessor. This equates to a top speed that’s 206 mph for the coupe (one mile-per-hour faster than the old model) while the convertible has a 203 mph limit.
“Making its global debut at the Geneva Show, the new Continental GT Speed is the ultimate expression of the modern Bentley grand tourer. This one car effortlessly combines immense, dramatic levels of performance with the exemplary standards of luxury, individuality and refinement our company is renowned for,” said Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors.
New looks accompany the increase in power for the new Bentley Continental GT Speed. The flagship model has new additions such as a body-colored front splitter, subtle side skirts, and rear diffuser as part of the Mulliner Styling Specification to improve overall aerodynamics and reduce lift as it cruses past 200 mph. Special chrome “Speed” badges are proudly worn on each of the front fenders, beneath which sit dark tint-finished 21-inch Speed wheels and red-painted brake calipers. Both the headlights and taillights wear a darker tint to create a more imposing presence.
Inside, Bentley has added a new touch of exclusivity for the Speed models. The Bentley Continental GT Speed will come with a special color split for the handcrafted luxury cabin for driver and passengers to enjoy.
