MTM – Motoren Technik Mayer is always up for the challenge of tuning and upgrading any kind of vehicle in the Volkswagen Auto Group’s arsenal. The Audi S3 Cabriolet is no different and they’ve worked their magic on the small convertible just in time to enjoy the remainder of summer.
The 2.0 TFSI turbocharged inline-four engine powering all four wheels in the Audi S3 Cabriolet is ripe for tuning and is packed with potential. All it takes for the team at MTM is their M-Cantronic software tuning module and 1.5 hours before the 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque from the factory gets bumped up to 360 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque. Paired up with a four-pipe stainless steel exhaust system, and the small German convertible becomes a mean little topless monster.
All that added power means more acceleration and speed to put a smile on your face. Speeding from 0-62 mph takes just 4.8 seconds compared to the stock 5.1-second time while top speed goes all the way back to an electronically-limited 155 mph.
But the MTM Audi S3 Cabriolet isn’t just about added power, it’s meant to handle and stop better than ever before. On the front axle sits a new bespoke MTM brake system with a pair of meaty 380 x 34 mm discs while the rear utilizes the factory system. Those brakes are hidden from plain sight thanks to the customer’s choice of MTM Nardo Edition or Bimoto wheels measuring 8.0 x 18, 8.5 x 18, or 9.0 x 20 fitments with a range of finishes. Finishing off the new chassis are new adjustable coilover systems developed in conjunction with KW to provide the optimal balance of handling, comfort, and center of gravity.
This recipe for fun this summer will cost approximately 62,000 Euros – 13,000 more than the price of the Audi S3 Cabriolet from the factory. Upgrades can also be purchased individually from MTM.
