From the winter of 1998 to the summer of 1999, Mercedes-Benz was busy building road-going versions of the CLK GTR to meet those pesky FIA homologation requirements. At the time, these were the most expensive production cars ever built, costing upwards of $1.5 million. The road-legal race cars were amazing feats of engineering that became instant icons of motoring.
Most of those road-going racers are kept safe and out of harm’s way inside of garages, never getting to be used in the way that they were meant. This Mercedes-Benzes CLK GTR, however, was given a set of HRE P103 forged wheels and given a track to play.
The long, low, and sleek looks of the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR in classic silver just dazzles with its confidence and its new HRE P103 wheels. The 6.9-liter V-12 engine producing 604 horsepower and 572 lb-ft. propels it to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and to a top speed of 214 mph, which is just what the new HRE wheels were built to handle.
This German track dominator was equipped with HRE P103 wheels in a staggered 10.5 x 19 front and 12.5 x 20 setup with 285/30/19 and 335/30/20 tires, respectively. The Satin Black finished monoblock forged wheels utilize the brand’s motorsports experience to create a durable and strong wheel with a low overall weight to provide maximum performance.
