Giving the people what they want.
Following the unveiling of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe and the debut of the car at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the British automaker has announced its partner in luxury – the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante.
Thanks to the large interest of customers in the Coupe models, Aston Martin decided to work alongside Zagato once again to create the open-top version of the exotic. The collaboration between the British automaker and Italian design house has spanned six decades and produced numerous iconic vehicles such as the DB4 GT Zagato.
Limited to just 99 units, the new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante will combine the class and craftsmanship of the British automaker with the character and passion seen and felt from the Italian design house.
The same proportions seen on the coupe variant carry over to the Volante with its sculpted, flowing lines and defined hips that create the impression of power, presence, and speed. A bespoke folding top using the same mechanism from the factory Vanquish Volante is hidden beneath the twin cowls on the rear deck. Further back are the eye-catching round LED taillights using the same bladed LED technology as the Vulcan.
“Just like the Coupe, we have emphasized the way surfaces change and intersect to create a muscular form. We’ve endeavored to create an elegant, flowing shape that really works to emphasize the car’s sculpted rear haunches” said Aston Martin’s EVP and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.
Powering the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante is the same modified V-12 engine found in the coupe variant, producing 592 bhp and leading to a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds.
The cockpit of the Vanquish Zagato Volante was given the full ‘Q’ division and Zagato touch. Here, high-end materials such as herringbone carbon fiber, anodized bronze, and Bridge of Weir leather is used throughout along with Zagato’s iconic ‘Z’ quilted stitching on the seats and doors. Each headrest also boasts an embossed Zagato ‘Z’ further showcasing its unique character.
“The Vanquish Zagato Volante illustrates the ways in which Aston Martin design can evolve in collaboration with such a trusted and long-standing partner,’ said Reichman. “Vanquish Zagato Volante continues Aston Martin’s new century of innovation and creativity, strengthening the association between these great automotive marques in the process”.
The new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante will be limited to just 99 units globally with deliveries beginning in 2017.
