Burning rubber before the new AMG even hits the streets.
As the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG just begins to arrive on dealership lots, German tuner, wheelsandmore, already has a new tuning program in place for the four-door coupe.
The new-generation of Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG uses a new 5.5-liter biturbo V-8 engine that is not only more powerful than the 6.2-liter it replaces, but is also more efficient. wheelsandmore engineers were able to extract a large amount of power from the new engine with a new ECU tune and valve-controlled exhaust system with sport catalytic converters. The result was a beefy 580 horsepower and 596 lb-ft. of torque for the wheelsandmore CLS.
In addition to the engine tuning, wheelsandmore has also upgraded the wheels and suspension to create a more driver-oriented ride. The CLS 63 AMG uses a unique stock suspension setup, with a traditional suspension at the front and air suspension at the rear. In the quest for improved handling, wheelsandmore teamed up with KW automotive to develop a height-adjustable spring set for the front axle and an electronic control for the rear air suspension system. Inside the wheel wells of the wheelsandmore CLS 63 AMG is a set of the latest-generation 6Sporz² rims from wheelsandmore. The lightweight multi-piece 9.5 x 20 front and 11 x 20 rear wheels are fitted with 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 Dunlop SportMaxx tires respectively.
The new wheelsandmore CLS 63 AMG tuning program is currently on sale. Pricing and performance specifications have not been released.
