Although the B7 Audi A4 may be out of production, it is the last generation of A4 with a convertible variant, as it was replaced by the sleeker Audi A5 Cabriolet. The two-door A4 (8HE) Cabriolet was a “middle-class” convertible that competed with the likes of the BMW 3-Series Convertible. Because these A4s are still popular cars, Sport Wheels has developed an aftermarket program to make drop-top driving more enjoyable.
The foremost aspect that the German tuner focused on was the wheel and tire fitment. After all, the company’s name is Sport Wheels. The stock wheel and tire combo was replaced with five-spoke Eta Beta Tettsut X-ceramic alloy rims measuring 9 x 20 at the front and rear axles. The white wheels with chrome spoke centers and wear 245/30 R20 Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tires for added grip. To give the A4 Cabriolet a proper stance, a KW Coilover Inox Variant 3 suspension was installed to lower the car and fill in the wheel wells.
Sport Wheels then focused on creating a more exciting driving experience by tuning the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. With a simple ECU tune, the 200 horsepower engine was pushed to make 250 horsepower and 274 lb-ft of torque. In addition to the tune, Sport Wheels also installed a new exhaust system with middle and rear mufflers, ending in 4 x 83 mm tailpipes integrated into a new rear apron system.
The Sport Wheels A4 tuning program for the Cabriolet is currently available as an entire package or individual accessories. The wheel and tire fitment is priced at € 3,290 (+/- 4,800 USD), and the KW coilovers are € 1,759 (+/- 2,500 USD). The engine tuning is available for € 849 (+/- 1,200 USD), and the rear apron is € 130 (+/- 190 USD). The entire program can be purchased for €16,660 (+/- 24,300 USD).
