You don’t need to drive the rear-wheels to be fast.
The Megane RS Trophy is the fastest car that Renault has ever built. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine sends 265 horses to the front wheels. The hot hatch can reach 62 mph in six seconds flat and tops out at 157 mph; pretty impressive for any car, let alone one that is front-wheel drive. To prove the Megane RS Trophy was one of the fastest cars to drive the front wheels, they set out to establish a Nürburgring record.
The Renault Megane RS Trophy was able to set a new FWD record around the Nordschleife with an 8:07.79 lap time. That’s faster than the new BMW 1 Series M Coupe! Luckily, Renault was able to take us along for the record setting lap time, so buckle up!
