Wimmer RST 911 GT2 takes on Hockenheimring for the 2011 Tuner Grand Prix

A podium finish for the Porsche.

At the beginning of 2011, Wimmer RST unveiled their new Porsche 911 GT2 RS tuning program. The program comprised of new turbochargers, sport air filters, a tuned throttle valve, a sport exhaust, and retuned ECU, pushing output to 703 horsepower and 597 lb-ft. This enabled the GT2 RS to rocket to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, hit 124 mph in 9.5, and reach a top speed of 221 mph.

In the Sport Auto and H&R 2011 Tuner Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring, Wimmer added a few new upgrades for their 911 GT2 RS. New H&R sport springs, a Sachs sport clutch, and BMC air filters were installed along with 9×19 front and 12×19 rear central-locking ATS Superlight forged wheels with 245/35 R19 and 325/30 R19 Michelin tires.

At the 2011 Sport Auto and H&R Tuner Grand Prix, the Wimmer RST Porsche 911 GT2 RS placed second and was driven by Uwe Alzen; pretty impressive for the 703 horsepower beast. Check out the video a spectator shot of the GT2 RS and listen to that exhaust note!
