The Carbon Fiber Mansory Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing Exposed

Mansory has always been about being loud and in-your-face with its car designs and tuning programs. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is no different. In stock form, the super car is clean, conspicuous, and clearly Mercedes through and through. But instead of keeping the classic design of the stock model, Mansory has given the car an aggressive exterior treatment with a 700+ horsepower compressor system to back those looks up.

Mansory gave the body of the SLS AMG the blitz with a host of aerodynamic carbon fiber spoilers, skirts, vents, and diffusers that gives the SLS AMG GT3 a run for its money in the looks department. To start things off, the large three-pointed star inside the front grille has been removed in favor of a black three-bar design flanked by large black vents on either side. A new carbon fiber front spoiler has been installed and reduces lift at the front axle while a carbon fiber hood cools the engine bay. Each side wears carbon fiber skirts that continue the lines started by the front spoiler, and a set of illuminated gills. At the rear is a lip spoiler that sits atop the trunk and an optimized diffuser. The two aerodynamic upgrades work in tandem to keep the SLS AMG planted at high speeds.

But the flashy exterior upgrades don’t end there. The Mansory SLS AMG has been given a set of seven-spoke forged wheels in a black finish to match the contrasting carbon fiber bodywork. The staggered 9.5 x 20 front and 11.5 x 21 rear wheels are given 275/30 and 295/25 front and rear Michelin tires for greater grip. The SLS was then lowered some 20 mm at both axles by suspension upgrades that include new shock absorbers for a lower center of gravity and improved handling.

Aside from the extravagant bodywork, there’s a little something hiding under the hood that, depending on your opinion of the car, can cause you to overlook or advocate the exorbitant design. The 6.2-liter V-8 is no longer naturally aspirated after the Mansory SLS AMG tuning program. The engine gains a new sport air filter, stainless steel exhaust system, ECU tune, and, most importantly, a compressor system. The new upgrades increase output all the way to 732 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 608 lb-ft. of torque at 5,600 RPM.

Compared to the outrageous exterior and engine, the interior of the Mansory SLS AMG is rather moderately styled. Here, Mansory focuses on creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere to suit a customer’s taste. High-quality leather is stitched by hand in a wide variety of designs by craftsman. A customizable airbag steering wheel, aluminum pedal set, and rear carbon fiber trim pieces are available for the cockpit of the SLS AMG.

The Mansory SLS AMG Gullwing is not available as a complete car. The German company will provide all of the upgrades and accessories, including installation, to a car supplied by customers. Pricing for the complete transformation has not been released since it is based on individual preferences.
