RS 6 who?
The Audi S6 Avant is quite possibly one of the best family cars on the market if there’s enough coin in your bank account to afford one. But the ABT Sportsline AS6-R is even better. It’s a testosterone-injected people-carrier that is packed with all sorts of fun stuff that makes it quite the sports car.
“This car provides both the space and the power to get anything from A to B. And why not via the Nürburgring’s famous ‘Nordschleife’?” said CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt.
Under the hood of the new ABT AS6-R is the all-new 4.0 TFSI from the German automaker. While an output north of 400 horsepower in stock form is more than enough to get from point-A to point-B, the German tuner installed their custom-tailored ABT Power S package. The twin-turbocharged V-8 engine gained a new set of turbochargers, some German magic, and an ECU tune. This brings output all the way up to 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft. of torque – almost a whopping 43-percent increase!
This enables the ABT AS6-R super Avant to accelerate to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds and reach 124 mph in just 12.9 seconds while being electronically-limited to 193 mph. This rivals that of the high-performance Audi RS 6, as its packing 40 ponies more.
Matching the high-output of the twin-turbocharged 4.0 TFSI is a carbon fiber styling kit. The front wears a new carbon fiber skirt that matches the modern styling of the Audi S6. New fender inserts and side skirts add a touch of sport along with the new carbon fiber mirrors. At the rear is a carbon fiber spoiler atop the tailgate, a rear skirt set with integrated quad stainless steel exhaust system, and corresponding lettering.
Making the ABT AS6-R quicker on its feet is a new set of ABT Sportsline wheels. ABT DR gunmetal sport wheels feature five double-spokes in a bent shape to create the illusion of movement while standing still. The lightweight alloy wheels were installed in a 9.0 x 21 size all around and fitted with 265/30 ZR21 performance tires.
All of the featured products on the ABT AS6-R are currently available for the Audi S6 and a few other Audi models. Pricing for the full package has not been released.
