Basic but fun.
The Volkswagen Tiguan isn’t the most eye-catching vehicle in the German automaker’s lineup but it’s a good compact SUV suited for virtually any kind of situation. ABT Sportsline is looking to inject a bit of fun and excitement into it with their new range of ABT Power upgrades for the 2.0 TFSI and TDI engines to go along with some chassis goodies.
The two 2.0-liter turbodiesel engines and the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines al benefit from the ABT Sportsline engineers with the new upgrade program. The 2.0 TFSI in the Tiguan sees an increase up to 216 horsepower and 266 lb-ft. of torque. In the less-powerful 2.0 TDI motor, output rises to a healthy 180 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. The beefier 2.0 TDI goes all the way up to 215 horsepower and carries a meaty 326 lb-ft. of torque. No matter what engine, ABT Sportsline can give the Volkswagen Tiguan a nice kick in the ass.
The other part of the fun lies beneath the fenders. Here, ABT Sportsline can install a full set of lowering springs that reduce the ride height by 30 mm at the front and rear for a more athletic stance. To go along with the reduced stance, customers can opt for ABT Cr, DR, ER-C, and FR wheels with Continental or Dunlop performance tires in diameters ranging from 18- to 21 inches.
While it may not sound like a full-on complete upgrade program, the new ABT Sportsline upgrades for the Volkswagen Tiguan give the compact SUV a helping of fun and excitement that won’t break the bank. The full range of upgrades is currently available.
