And showing off their AS6 at SEMA.
Some of the aftermarket automotive companies that we feature here on Motoring Exposure are only available in Europe and other parts of the world. Unfortunately, we’re left to imagine and admire the capabilities of these tuned and modified cars from afar. Now, we can cross ABT Sportsline off of the unavailable list because they’re coming to the United States and will be making an appearance at the 2013 SEMA Show come November.
ABT Sportsline is the largest tuner for Volkswagen Group automobiles in the world, and now they’re expanding their reach even further with their latest announcement. “We look forward to being part of the SEMA’s 50th anniversary ‘party’. With the ABT AS6, the more than 100,000 trade visitors at one of the globally most successful automotive fairs can see a perfect, detailed and dynamic total package“, says Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of ABT Sportsline.
At the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, ABT Sportsline will be showcasing their new ABT AS6 based on the Audi A6 3.0 TDI. The sports car will be featuring their latest power upgrade that bumps the factory output all the way up to 286 bhp and 500 lb-ft. of torque. The increase in power comes along with a set of upgraded brakes, sport suspension springs, and ABT ER Sport wheels. On the exterior side of things, an ABT front spoiler is combined with new fender inserts, side skirts, carbon-look mirror covers, a rear spoiler, and rear skirt kit to optimize aerodynamics a bit.
ABT Sportsline will begin the process of offering their products in the United States by opening up a subsidiary in Cerritos/Los Angeles, California. There has been no word on if the German company will expand its reach further in the United States in the near future.
Welcome to the United States!
