More excitement from Geneva.
ABT Sportsline is having a hell of a time celebrating their 120th birthday. The company has been working with the automakers that preceded Audi since the 1920s and with the Audi 80 (predecessor to the A4) since 1994. That experience has carried into their bread-and-butter car, the ABT AS4 that made its debut at Geneva.
The newest ABT Sportsline AS4 is based on the latest generation of Audi A4 and has all the goodies that we’ve come to love from the German tuning company.
“The A4 is certainly mainly responsible for the company’s growth and for us always has been very important as well,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of the leading tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group. “The A4 is the benchmark among medium-sized premium cars and for us a challenge we have always liked rising to.”
The subject of the ABT Sportsline AS4 transformation was an Audi A4 Avant packed with the oil-burning 3.0 TDI engine. The German tuners installed their ABT Power “New Generation” module and were able to bump output up to a brawny 325 horsepower and 501 lb-ft. of torque.
All that torque is sent to a choice of ABT DR, ER-C, or FR wheel designs measuring 8.5 x 19, 8.5 x 20, or 9.0 x 20 with corresponding high performance tires for added grip. The ABT AS4 also benefits from a set of height-adjustable springs paired up with spacers for a low, wide stance.
The intimidating look for the ABT AS4 only gets better from there. The front fascia benefits from a new skirt add-on and a silver grille staring ahead with the sleek headlights. New fender inserts provide a visual performance boost while the rear skirt set extends outwards and integrates a new rear muffler with quad exhaust tips.
The new ABT Sportsline AS4 is currently available for all Audi A4 models as a complete package or individual accessories.
