Many times, diesel engines offer up a more economical solution to less efficient gasoline engines. These oil-burners don’t have the same horsepower figures and are oftentimes slower than their petrol counterparts, but that doesn’t mean that they cannot be fun. ABT Sportsline is showing how you can still have a thrilling drive with an efficient diesel engine with their new ABT Audi Q3 2.0 TDI upgrade program.
The 2.0 TDI inline-four cylinder engine used in the Audi Q3 was the basis for the new upgrades from ABT Sportsline. The team installed their new ABT-Power New Generation upgrade package that pushes output from a respectable 184 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque to a more athletic 210 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque. “We use our ABT Engine Control, tested for maximum dependability, and also provide comprehensive guarantees,” said CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt.
The fun continues on down towards the chassis of the ABT Audi Q3 2.0 TDI. Here, the German tuners give customers the option to strap on a set of ABT suspension springs that drop the ride height by 25- and 35 mm at the front and rear, respectively or a an ABT height-adjustable suspension kit that allows for lowering of 30- to 60 mm up front and 40- to 70 mm at the rear. Both upgrades reduce the center of gravity and allow for higher lateral-G forces to be achieved, because better handling means more fun.
In addition to the newly-fitted suspensions, the ABT Audi Q3 2.0 TDI can also benefit from an upgraded wheel and tire fitment. ABT Sportsline offers their FR, ER-C, and DR alloy wheels in diameters ranging from 18- to 21-inches with various finishes to give the crossover SUV a more athletic stance, especially with the lowered suspension.
The visual improvements don’t end there. The Q3 sports a new ABT Sportsline front fascia with new skit and spoiler for a more aggressive look while new side mirror covers and door strips decorate the side profile. At the rear, a new lower skirt seamlessly integrates the new quad tailpipe design attached to the new ABT muffler setup, while a spoiler sits atop the trunk.
Inside, ABT Sportsline offers customers a few luxuries. A new set of ABT door entrance lights, floor mats, and optional trunk mat add that special custom touch for the newly-tuned crossover.
The new ABT Sportsline upgrade program for the Audi Q3 2.0 TDI is currently available as a complete package or as individual accessories. Upgrades for the other engines in the Q3 are also currently under development.
