Packin’ in the power!
Many automotive enthusiasts lust after high-performance wagons with a manual transmission. They combine it all: driving engagement, capability, and performance. The Audi RS 6 Avant combines checks off two of those boxes but has a fast-shifting dual-clutch gearbox. The team at ABT Sportsline has made the super wagon even better and transformed it into the 730-horsepower RS6-R.
The flexible and potent 4.0 TFSI twin-turbocharged V-8 engine is packed with potential even in the high-performance Audi RS 6. ABT Sportsline developed the ABT Power S upgrade that utilizes the ABT Engine Control unit with specially-developed software to open up the full potential of the engine. After the upgrades, the ABT Sportsline RS6-R produces a whopping 730 horsepower and 679 lb-ft. of torque. That’s good enough to throw your groceries around in the trunk with the push of the throttle. A full stainless steel exhaust system also makes others aware of the super wagon’s presence.
Putting all that power to the road isn’t always an easy task, but the all-wheel drive ABT Sportsline RS6-R wears bigger alloy wheels and stickier tires to accommodate. The new ABT FR alloy wheels measure 10.0 x 22 ET52 at the front and rear axles and feature a five-double spoke design that exudes confidence. New 295/25 ZR22 Dunlop sport tires work to generate loads of grip. The final touch is a new set of ABT suspension springs that allows drivers to adjust the height for optimum performance in any situation.
That incredible amount of power is also reflected with the exterior design of the ABT Sportsline RS6-R. The front fascia is more aggressive thanks to the addition of a carbon fiber front lip with blades, air inlet covers, and flics that optimize aerodynamics. A new front grille insert proudly shows off its ‘ABT’ and ‘RS6-R’ logos, hinting at the increased performance and exclusivity.
Each side of the ABT Sportsline RS6-R wears a set of new side skirts with carbon fiber blades, carbon fiber mirror covers, and front fender inserts that complement the dark tone of the Daytona Grey Matt paint. At the rear, a bright red ‘RS6-R’ logo sits on the opposite side of the trunk from the ‘ABT’ logo. A new skirt add-on with carbon fiber center section flanked by dual exhaust outlets and air outlets on the rear fenders adds more visual power. A roof spoiler in carbon fiber helps to generate additional downforce to keep that big butt planted.
The final aspect of the ABT Sportsline RS6-R conversion is the interior cabin. Here, ABT Sportsline installed a new steering wheel with LED shift lights for the driver along with a full set of floor mats, RS6-R lettering, and embroidered head rests.
The new ABT Sportsline RS6-R is based on the facelifted Audi RS 6 Avant and is currently available as a complete conversion or as individual accessories.
