It’s all about the power and performance.
Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and the other brands under the Volkswagen ownership umbrella might all be in the midst of a very serious investigation regarding their diesel engines, but that’s not stopping tuning companies like ABT Sportsline from upgrading the diesel models. After all, these companies can write their own software tunes.
The ABT Sportsline Audi SQ5 TDI takes diesel performance to the next level. “From naught to 100 kph in less than 5 seconds and a new top speed of 260 kph,” said CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt. “But that is not all. We also provide quality, which finds expression in our extensive warranty and the most thorough tests, on both the dynamometer and on public roads.“
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine in the high-performance Audi SQ5 TDI was subject to the ABT Power “New Generation” tune for both the factory 313- and 326-horsepower variants. The oil-burner is capable of producing 360- and 365-horsepower outputs, respectively for each factory variant along with a monstrous 524 lb-ft. of torque. That’s good enough for a 0-62 mph sprint in less than 5.0 seconds. Top speed was also pushed back a tad to 162 mph as opposed to the standard 155 mph.
Armed with the added power, the ABT Audi SQ5 TDI is quite the potent crossover. ABT Sportsline can also make it more quick and nimble thanks to a few chassis upgrades. The suspension can be optionally outfitted with new height-adjustable springs that allow the front axle to be lowered between 5- and 30-mm while the rear can be dropped by 10- to 35-mm.
Additionally, the ABT Audi SQ5 TDI can benefit from a range of ABT Sportsline’s CR, D-, ER-C, and FR alloy wheels measuring 9.0 x 20, 9.5 x 20, 9.0 x 21, and 10.0 x 22 with corresponding Continental or Pirelli sport tires. For the perfect stance, customers can choose between 30-, 50-, and 70-mm wheel spacers.
The added power also comes with added style in the ABT Audi SQ5. New aerodynamic and styling parts made from OEM-spec polyurethane are used for a seamless fitment. A new front grille with five vertical bars and the ABT logo can be installed alongside the new front skirt. Optional extended fenders at the front and rear add some visual muscle along with door strip attachments. At the rear, a new wing spoiler helps to generate downforce for the potent crossover SUV.
Inside, customers can opt for a set of ABT Sportsline floor mats and/or truck mat for added style and protection.
