Giving the Bavarians the Aachen touch.
The BMW M3 and M4 have been out for quite some time, and AC Schnitzer is finally rolling out their comprehensive upgrade packages for the two Germans that adds style and performance, both inside and out.
The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engines found in both the BMW M3 and M4 models got the AC Schnitzer “Efficient Performance” touch. A secondary ECU module was installed to generate a total of 510 horsepower and 476 lb-ft. of torque, and is paired with a new muffler with electronically-adjustable sound flaps to alter the volume of the exhaust as needed.
While the added power helps in a straight line, AC Schnitzer’s new suspension upgrades help both the BMW M3 and M4 in the corners. A basic AC Schnitzer spring kit can be installed to reduce height by 25-30 mm at the front and 10-15 mm at the rear can be installed, or customers can opt for the adjustable RS Racing suspension. Not only does the latter reduce the ride height by 30-40 mm at the front and 30 mm at the rear, the suspension can be adjusted in terms of compression and rebound without affecting everyday driving comfort.
Carbon fiber is the name of the game with the new AC Schnitzer BMW M3 and M4 aerodynamics package. Up front, a basic lightweight front spoiler make up Stage 1 while an additional front splitter makes up Stage 2. In Stage 3, AC Schnitzer adds on two carbon fiber winglets on each side of the bumper to optimize downforce.
The carbon fiber front upgrades is only the start of the aerodynamic kit for the BMW M3 and M4. AC Schnitzer also offers a carbon fiber rear diffuser, side mirror covers, roof spoiler, rear spoiler, and choice of two rear wings. A rear skirt protective film can also be added as well.
To complete the visual and performance upgrades, AC Schnitzer can install their new AC1 forged alloy wheels in BiColor or Anthracite. The five-trapezoidal-spoke forged wheels are larger but actually lighter than the factory wheels, thus improving overall vehicle performance. The new AC1 wheels are available in a variety of sizes from 19- to 20-inch diameters with high-performance tires. Customers can also opt for a range of other alloy wheels with 19-, 20-, or 21-inch diameters.
Inside, AC Schnitzer has all the goodies to complement the athletic nature of the two M models. An aluminum pedal set and foot rest pairs perfectly with the “Black Line” aluminum gear knob with digital display and matching handbrake handle. A special keyholder, velour floor mats, and iDrive controller covers can also be installed.
AC Schnitzer offers all of its upgrades for the BMW M3 and M4 as a complete package or individual accessories. The performance upgrades also come with a two-year warranty as standard.
