Audi’s Q7 is a capable seven-passenger luxury sport utility vehicle. And, when fitted with the 6.0-liter V-12 TDI is a torque-packed, performance family-hauler. Catering to the parents who want performance from their family car is the new “Family Edition” program from Anderson Germany. The tuning program increases power, adds new bodywork and wheels, and transforms the interior into a rich and comfortable atmosphere.
The Q7 V-12 TDI already wears bodywork that differentiates it from the rest of the Q7 lineup, but Anderson Germany took it a step further. Both the front and rear diffusers have been replaced with carbon components. Carbon fiber also replaces the mirror caps and roof drip moldings while the front grill is surrounded by a carbon fiber trim piece. To complement the new carbon fiber trim, the grille and Audi logo have been painted in a glossy black lacquer. At the rear the black theme continues. The taillights and panes have been tinted black for a more sinister look.
New wheels and suspension upgrades have been added to finish the exterior appearance of the Q7 Family Edition. Shiny five-spoke black 10 x 22 wheels have been fitted and wear 295/30 R22 tires for improved grip. Contrasting red brake calipers stick out from the black and white theme and provide superb stopping power for the SUV. The immense 5,700-lb. weight of the Q7 V-12 TDI is somewhat countered with a new lowering module that reduces the center of gravity for improved handling.
The most notable aspect of the exclusive Q7 is the powerful V-12 turbodiesel engine packed under the hood. The V-12 powerplant provides an even 500 horsepower and 738 lb-ft. stock while returning 21 mpg – impressive given the SUV’s sheer weight. But, for Anderson Germany, those performance numbers weren’t good enough. The tuner fitted new air filters and optimized the ECU to crank out an extra 50 horses for a total of 550. Take that minivan!
Anderson Germany’s greatest work is the interior of the Q7 Family Edition. White carbon fiber trim pieces are used throughout the cabin, replacing the parking brake, door trim, switching jacks, steering wheel, air vents, interior light, and switch guide plate. In contrast, parts of the vents, steering wheel, shift levers, center console, speedometer, and radio screen are in black carbon fiber. All seats wear new leather and alcantara with white stitching. Even the children’s car seat is fitted with the new leather and alcantara upholstery, ensuring the child will either grow to be a racecar driver or have very rich taste in automobiles.
The complete Audi Q7 Family Edition program is currently available from Anderson Germany for all those parents who want to drive their children in style. No pricing has been released.
