Who said Red was the best color for a Ferrari?
Anderson Germany has a tendency to go against the grain, and with their new Carbon Black Edition Ferrari 458 Italia, they show that every Ferrari doesn’t need to be Red. The new Carbon Black Edition features, you guessed it, carbon fiber! The lightweight material adorns much of the interior, exterior, and even wheels for a one-of-a-kind look.
The exterior of the Ferrari 458 Italia is completely black. Everything from the windows to the wheels is black, except the Ferrari logos and yellow calipers. Anderson Germany has also fitted a number of carbon fiber accessories for added downforce and high-speed stability. The front wears a new spoiler, while a sport hood features carbon fiber air intakes that also help to drain water. The rear sports a new carbon fiber diffuser to help keep the 458 planted at higher speeds. As part of the package, a new carbon fiber engine cover along with side mirrors has been fitted. The 21-inch wheels are also carbon fiber, and wear 245 front and 345 rear tires for better grip.
One of the main advantages of using carbon fiber is that it helps to reduce weight. This was also the name of the game in the engine performance department. A new exhaust system with special race catalytic converters has been fitted and saves 40 lbs. over the stock unit. A special heat protection sleeve reduces exhaust temperatures by 60%, so this 458 doesn’t burst into flames. It also features remote-controlled valves to give drivers the option for a Formula 1-like sound or a more muffled rumble. Anderson Germany also retuned the ECU, resulting in 623 horsepower and 471 lb-ft. of torque compared to the stock 570 hp and 400 lb-ft.
Inside it’s all about carbon fiber. The air vents, door handles, door sills, center console, steering wheel, tachometer trim, shift paddles, and even seat adjustment handles are all carbon fiber. To match the sea of carbon fiber, the seats and door inserts are fitted with black leather and diamond-stitched alcantara. The sound system is also upgraded, this time without carbon fiber, with a DVD player, subwoofer, amplifier, speakers, and Bluetooth integration.
The Anderson Germany Ferrari 458 Italia Carbon Black Edition is currently available. Pricing for the entire package has not been released.
