That’s more expensive than an R8, folks.
The R8 is Audi’s flagship supercar. It has all the performance, technology, and prestige packed into one athletic supercar. But, there’s model car that’s arguably a bit more exclusive than the average R8, has two more doors, and is also more expensive – it’s the Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition.
The Audi RS 7 may put up some supercar numbers and have an engine capable of shutting the door on a few exotics, but it’s not an R8. It is however $146,045, which is about $30K more than the base V-8 Audi R8 and just $5K under the V-10 model. It’s also a good $40K more than the standard RS 7 model.
So what do you get with that extra $40K? First, the Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition features all the goodies from the Audi Exclusive personalization program to make it even more special than your “average” RS 7. Aside from all the personalized interior and exterior goodies, The RS 7 Dynamic Edition also features the new Audi DRC suspension.
“The Audi exclusive RS 7 dynamic edition exemplifies just some of the personalization options that are possible through our Audi exclusive program”, said Filip Brabec, Director of Product Planning, Audi of America. “The combination of our most powerful RS model ever and the added customized elements make this a truly special car to drive and to behold.”
The new DRC suspension system featured on the Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition is designed to provide drivers with an engaging ride aimed at maximum performance. The system utilizes three-stage dampers hydraulically cross-linked and integrated into the Audi Drive Select system. The dampers along with the rear sport differential automatically adjust depending on the driving mode while the Dynamic Steering system alters the steering boost and ratio to provide the driver with better feedback and feel.
The 4.0 TFSI twin-turbocharged V-8 engine provides all the thrust you’ll ever need in the Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition, but remains unchanged compared to its less expensive standard variant. Driver’s can still expect to be thrust into infinity with the 560 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque output while getting an EPA estimated 16 mpg city/ 27 highway/ 19 combined thanks to all sorts of high-tech engine wizardry.
The Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition will be visually different from its standard counterparts, although it will still feature the colors of the German rainbow, with Ibis White, Suzuka Gray metallic, Daytona Gray pearl, Phantom Black pearl being the four available colors. New 21-inch gloss black-finished wheels have Tornado Red brake calipers peering from behind. Carbon fiber also makes an appearance in the form of a new front splitter, diffuser, and engine cover for the mighty 4.0 TFSI.
Inside, things take a more dramatic or in this case, dynamic, turn. The Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition wears Black Valcona leather seats with contrasting Crimson Red RS hondeycomb stitching and seat belts. The same vibrant red stitching is also featured on the arm rests, center console, dashboard, and gear shifter boot while carbon fiber inlays make their presence felt around the cabin for a more athletic feel.
The new Audi Exclusive RS 7 Dynamic Edition may be packed with some pretty exclusive, customized refinements and an advanced suspension system, but its $146,045 MSRP including destination and delivery may dissuade typical Audi buyers. Then again, potential customers of the RS 7 Dynamic Edition likely already have a top-of-the-line R8 sitting in their garage already.
