A look back at the greatest racing ever with the new Audi RS 7.
The Audi RS 7 just made its worldwide debut in Detroit at the 2013 North American International Auto Show with a 560 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0 TFSI V-8, lots of performance-enhancing goodies, and the tried-and-true Quattro all-wheel drive. Its performance and top speed are impressive, and it’s all wrapped in some muscular sheetmetal. But, what if the Audi RS 7 competed in one of the greatest racing series ever – Group B?
Thanks to Photographer, Frédéric Louis, and Autofans.be, we have an idea of how the Audi RS 7 might look if it wore the same Audi Quattro S1 Group B livery. The talented Photographer was able to create a beautiful rendering of the Audi RS 7 that paid tribute to its forefather that blazed the way for not just Quattro, but Audi as an automaker and gave the brand the performance pedigree that it needed.
While the Audi RS 7 was powered by the 4.0 TFSI engine with 560 horsepower, we’re left wondering how it would drive through dirt, gravel, pavement, and mud with the legendary 2.1-liter 20-valve turbo-five from the Audi Quattro S1 that provided over 500 bhp to all four wheels. All of our favorite parts of the Quattro S1 are all there: the fixed rear spoiler, five-spoke white wheels, rally lights, and classic Audi livery.
Now we just need a pile of money and we have a new project on our hands….
