Fun for any situation.
Audi’s R8 put the German automaker on the map in the automotive world and put other super cars on notice with its modern design and mid-mounted powerplant. The R8 continues to shine on the track and at dealerships worldwide after its facelift, and the B&B Automobiltechnik team has created a new tuning program with enough flavors to suit everyone’s tastes.
The new Audi R8 V10 Plus is the top-dog in the model lineup for the freshly facelifted supercar. Its naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 engine is ripe for modification and the German aftermarket tuning company took full advantage with three different stages.
Stage One helps boost the V-10 a bit for a total of 595 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. of torque, up from the factory 550 horsepower and 398 lb-ft output. In Stage Two, output rises a bit more up to a total of 610 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque. In the final Stage Three, also known as “BB R8 M20/3”, the German tuner modifies the intake and air channel ducts, installs new carbon air filters, and an ECU tune that focuses on the ignition and fuel injection parameters. Also included in the BB R8 M20/3 is a full B&B Automobiltechnik stainless steel exhaust system with remote-controlled valves reduces backpressure and allows drivers to select four different sound modes while driving. The final stage sees output rise all the way up to 628 horsepower and 431 lb-ft. of torque, sending the Audi R8 V10 Plus to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, 124 mph in 9.6 seconds, and to a top speed of 204 mph.
While the three different stages of engine tuning were the focus for B&B Automobiltechnik on the Audi R8 V10 Plus, the team also installed various upgrades on the chassis to ensure that it can excel at handling as well. A full in-house racing chassis that lowers the overall ride height by 20- to 40 mm helps make it even more nimble. The team also installed a set of ten-spoke lightweight alloy wheels that measure 9.0 x 20 up front and 11.0 x 20 at the rear with 235/30 R20 and 305/25 R20 high-performance tires.
B&B Automobiltechnik doesn’t just offer all of its goodies for the Audi R8 V10 Plus. The German company also has a wide range of accessories from tuning to carbon ceramic brakes for the rest of the Audi R8 lineup as well.
