The E46 generation BMW M3 is one of the favorites amongst BMW enthusiasts as it was a well-balanced performance machine. Even though production ended in 2005, it still performs well by today’s standards. G-Power, the BMW specialists, has unveiled a new upgrade program to keep the model at the forefront of the sports car world.
The new G-Power E46 is powered by the always reliable ASA supercharger system, the same kind used by Alpina in their B5S, B6S, B7, and B6 GT3 cars. Instead of going for the fences with an ultra-powerful upgrade that required extensive modifications, the E46 M3 tuning program was designed to create a good amount of power while still maintaining G-Power’s high reliability and quality standards.
Forcing air into the 3.2-liter inline-six is an ASA T1-518 centrifugal supercharger system. The supercharger increases output by 107 horsepower and 70 lb-ft. of torque for a total of 450 hp at 7,000 RPM and 339 b-ft. at 5,500 RPM. After the upgrade, the G-Power E46 M3 can accelerate to 124 mph in just 14.7 seconds and to a top speed of 186 mph. As an option, customers can opt for a handcrafted stainless steel rear muffler with Deeptone technology and 4 x 76 mm end pipes with the E46 M3 tuning program from G-Power.
The additional power in the G-Power E46 M3 required the brakes to be upgraded and suspension to be tuned. Both the front and rear axles can be upgraded by G-Power with six-piston calipers and 370 mm discs up front and 342 mm units at the rear. The brakes are designed to dissipate heat more efficiently for consistent stopping power and utilize pads with more contact area and friction rate, and metal coated lines. The E46 M3 tuning program also includes a G-Power RS suspension system with nine-way adjustability in terms of bound and rebound settings for precise handling dynamics.
The finishing touch on the G-Power E46 is the set of 20-inch G-Power Silverstone Diamond lightweight alloy wheels. Each of the Silverstone Diamond wheels features a double-spoke and concave design with diamond cut characteristics and is finished with silver coated graphite faces and stainless steel bolts. The lower overall weight of the wheels helps to decrease rotating mass on the BMW M3 and improve the overall driving dynamics of the sports car. The Silverstone Diamond wheels will be equipped with 245/30 ZR20 front and 285/25 ZR20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The E46 M3 tuning program from G-Power is currently available from G-Power as a complete package or individual accessories. The supercharger upgrade can be fitted on the E46 M3 or Z4M for € 7,000.00 plus installation and the rear muffler is € 1,079.83. The wheel and tire setup can be purchased for € 4,422.17, the suspension for € 1,205.88, and the front brake setup for € 5,800.00 with the rear costing an additional € 3,860.00.
