Power, the Brabus way.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S is the perfect sports car if you like power in any of its forms. Whether it’s the coupe, sedan, or wagon, the car is not afraid to drop the hammer. Brabus, tuner of all things Mercedes-Benz and AMG, understands this and turned things up a notch where it counts.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 S benefits from the Brabus PowerXtra B40-600 plug-and-play auxiliary control module that modifies the mapping for injection, ignition, and boost pressure. After the installation, the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine produces 600 horsepower (591 bhp) at 5,800 RPM and 591 lb-ft. of torque from 1,750 to 4,500 RPM. That power boost allows the sedan to reach 62 mph from rest in only 3.8 seconds while the wagon takes 3.9 seconds. Both models are also capable of reaching a higher top speed of 186 mph with the plug-and-play unit.
As a bonus, a Brabus sport exhaust system can be installed to allow the mighty four-point-oh to really roar. The stainless steel pipes have integrated butterfly valves that are controlled electronically by a switch in the cabin to alter the volume.
Transmitting that power to the road are new Brabus Monoblock T wheels. The dark-finished wheels feature a classic design and measure 8.5J x 20 front and 9.5J x 20 at the rear with 255/30 ZR20 and 275/30 ZR20 Continental, Pirelli, or Yokohama high-performance tires.
Although the Mercedes-AMG C63 S had all the power from Brabus, it needed to show off its added muscle visually. Brabus engineers went to the wind tunnel and designed a carbon fiber aerodynamic package that includes a new front spoiler lip, side air intake surrounds, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and clear-coated carbon fiber side mirror covers.
Changes were also made to the interior. On the featured Brabus Mercedes-AMG C63 S sedan, the cockpit was given black leather furnishings with mandarin-colored seams with alcantara. New stainless steel scuff plates bear a color-changing backlit logo, a pair of aluminum paddle shifters, and 211-mph speedometer all add a touch of refinement. New wood, carbon fiber, and other materials in a range of colors can be added to customer cars as well.
The new Brabus Mercedes-AMG C63 S upgrades come standard with a three-year, 62,000-mile warranty. The featured model will make its debut at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt.
