The Audi RS3 is the fastest and most powerful variant in the A3 model lineup, however it’s not exactly known as being a top-speed monster. The team at MTM – Motoren Technik Mayer is looking to change that with their new MTM RS3 8V upgrade program that adds more power, performance, and style.
The new MTM RS3 8V features a full upgrade package for the 2.5-liter, turbocharged inline-five cylinder engine packed under its hood. The full performance upgrade includes a software tune for the ECU as well as an optional stainless steel cat-back exhaust system with middle and rear silencers and dual oval tailpipes in chrome or black ceramic.
The newly upgraded engine in the MTM RS3 8V is capable of producing 435 horsepower from 5,800 to 6,800 RPM and 446 lb-ft. of torque from 1,925 to 5,750 RPM. That’s good for a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a 0-124 time of 14.1 seconds. Top speed is also pushed back past 186 mph (300 km/h) with a proper set of tires.
“The 5-cyclinder Audi motor is an excellent basis on which to add more power,” according to MTM CEO Roland Mayer, “And we are developing versions with further power and torque gains”.
Helping to control that power in the MTM RS3 8V are optional suspension, brake, and wheel and tire options. New 8.5 x 19 MTM Nardo wheels with 255/30 ZR19 and 325/35 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires help the hot hatch break 186 mph and sit in front of optional MTM 380 x 34 mm brake discs. An MTM optional performance suspension is also available to slice and dice corners.
Visually, the MTM RS3 8V is also more striking and impactful. Downforce is generated by an MTM carbon fiber front spoiler wing while the carbon fiber rear diffuser keeps its butt planted. Carbon fiber mirror caps add a more dynamic touch.
Inside, the MTM RS3 8V gains a leather sport steering wheel with carbon fiber insert and optional carbon sport seats. A special MTM car door light with MTM logo showcases the car’s aftermarket boost even more.
All of the upgrades featured on the MTM RS3 8V are currently available as a complete package and as individual accessories. MTM is also currently developing a new 500+ horsepower upgrade program as well for the Audi RS3.
