Just add carbon fiber.
The upgrades that Mansory designs and builds aren’t for those looking to avoid the spotlight. They’re flashy, conspicuous, and powerful works of automotive design. The latest Mansory CLS W218 tuning program that debuted at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show is all about exclusivity, speed, and carbon fiber.
The Mansory CLS features a new, potent 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine under its carbon fiber hood. After the W218 tuning program that includes new sports air filters, exhaust system, and retuned ECU was installed, output rose to 631 horsepower and a tire-screeching 664 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 RPM.
But that’s not the most interesting aspect of the new W218 tuning program from Mansory. The new upgrade program equips the four-door coupe with lots of lightweight carbon fiber for a high performance look.
The front bumper on the Mansory CLS features large air intakes with daytime running lights, a new, carbon fiber grille, and spoiler that helps improve front axle aerodynamics. The bodywork flows into the new hood, which is also made of autoclave-prepreg carbon fiber, and utilizes large vents to help dissipate heat in the engine bay. To give the Mercedes-Benz CLS a truly aggressive look, Mansory installed new carbon fiber fenders that widen the track of the coupe by 50 mm up front and 80 mm at the rear. A carbon fiber rear diffuser and trunk mounted spoiler work together to generate downforce and keep the entire car planted at higher speeds.
The exterior transformation is finished off with the addition of new lightweight forged wheels. Mansory installed 20-inch wheels to fill in the extended fenders and fitted them with 265/30 ZR20 front and 305/25 ZR20 rear sport tires.
As with all Mansory cars, the interior in the W218 tuning program is fitted out exclusive, custom-tailored upholstery and trim pieces. The interior design team at Mansory will equip the cabin with custom leather and/or alcantara with unique stitching designs along with special carbon fiber trim components for the dashboard and console. Other interior upgrades include an ergonomic sports steering wheel, embroidered floor mats, aluminum pedals, and door entry sills.
The entire Mansory CLS W218 tuning program is currently available as a complete kit. Mansory does not offer complete cars and requires the customer to provide the desired car prior to upgrade. Pricing has not been released.
