A limited run to pay homage to a British icon.
The final Land Rover Defender rolled off the factory line in January of 2016, marking the end of a 68-year run for the off-road, boxy machine that became an international icon. To celebrate the heritage of the classic, the Chelsea Truck Company is building a total of 25 Land Rover Defender ‘The End Edition’ models.
This featured Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI XS 90 ‘The End Edition’ wears a Santorini Black paint a powerful upgrade package. Both the front and rear fenders have been widened and wear rugged exposed bolt apertures. Up front, a more imposing bumper sits prominently and features an integrated sump guard and lighting while an X-Lander front grille and mesh hood vents are positioned above. Along with the Kahn enamel shields and logos, a Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover flaunts its roots.
In the performance department, the Chelsea Truck Company Defender ‘The End Edition’ isn’t your average Defender. New Volcanic Black-finished 9.0 x 20 Mondial wheels fill in the wider fenders and wear 275/55/20 tires and have the protection of hard-wearing mud flaps. The new wheels can transverse harsher terrain thanks to a new suspension lift.
Painted brake calipers complete the visual upgrades but more fun can be had with the Kahn Power Upgrade unit auxiliary module that increases the 2.2-liter turbodiesel’s output, fuel economy, and the power band. A twin cross-hair exhaust system makes the SUV’s presence felt.
Inside, the ruggedness of the off-roader gives way to a more refined atmosphere thanks to the new Chelsea Truck Company upgrades. All of the seats were replaced with new GTB seats sporting quilted and perforated leather with Harris Tweed inserts. The same upholstery also adorns the center console, passenger dashboard, handles, door panels, instrument binnacle, sun visors, and the headliner of the Defender ‘The End Edition’. A new Kahn billet and leather steering wheel, Churchill clock, and vented and machined aluminum foot pedals complete the transformation.
This featured Santorini Black Chelsea Truck Company Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI XS 90 ‘The End Edition’ is currently available for £49,999. A total of 25 Land Rover Defender ‘The End Edition’ models will be built by the Chelsea Truck Company in right- or left-hand drive with prices starting at £49,999 plus VAT.
