The Roding Automobile company has been churning out a few exclusive super cars for the wealthy lovers of lightweight from their factory since 2008. The Roding Roadster R1 is a featherweight, open-top sports car that tips the scales at a mere 2,094 lbs. and has all the driving dynamics that you could ever want.
The small sports car manufacturer brought in Daehler Design & Technik to give their cars a generous power boost that gives the Roadster R1 some serious performance. At the heart of the Roadster is a mid-mounted BMW M TwinPower turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine that produces an impressive 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque.
That, however, was not enough, so Daehler developed two stages of tuning to unleash the beast. The first, LS 1 Stage, gives the 3.0-liter engine a healthy 408 horsepower and 398 lb-ft. of torque, which is good enough for a 186 mph top speed. The LS 2 Stage increases output to 450 horsepower and 457 lb-ft. of torque. That’s enough power to send the Roadster R1 to a top speed of 192 mph.
As part of the Daehler competition line of performance goodies, the Roding Roadster R1 also gains a six-piston high-performance brake system along with sportier tires, and a tuned chassis to make it even more of a driver’s dream.
