Keeping them alive before the rebirth.
Wiesmann unfortunately closed its doors in 2014, ending the boutique automaker’s run of exotic sports cars. While new cars weren’t rolling off the line, the team at Dähler kept things up-to-date and offered owners the ability to service. Now, with Wiesmann backed by new investors, things are looking bright for the Swiss tuner and Wiesmann authorized dealer.
The entire Wiesmann series of cars from the Roadster to the GT models and special models in between can be upgraded from the engine to the interior by Dähler. Even basic and scheduled maintenance can be done by the Swiss company.
But the real fun is in the modifications for the uniquely-designed sports cars. Whether it’s the inline-six engines, twin-turbo V-8, or even the mighty V-10, Dähler has three power levels available that range from a modest 338 horsepower all the way up to 671 horsepower. These all come complete with a software ECU tune as well as a full stainless steel exhaust system that emits a hair-raising note.
While power may be the most exciting upgrade available from Dähler, their new chassis upgrades make for more fun in the corners. Here, customers can opt for a fully and independently adjustable coilover suspension that allows for the height, rebound, and compression to be altered for a specific track or road.
In addition to the sharper handling on the Wiesmann models, Dähler also offers a full eight-piston high-performance brake setup that utilizes 400 mm discs. To finish it all off, the brand’s first manufactured wheels, the Dähler CDC1, can also be installed on Wiesmann Roadster and GT models. Up front, the new Dähler CDC1 wheels measure 9.0 x 20 or 9.0 x 21 while the rear comes in at a 10.5 x 20 or 10.5 x 21 setup.
Customers that want an even greater level of personation can enlist the help of Dähler to fully upgrade the interior to their specification including enhancing the audio systems.
Although Wiesmann hasn’t had a new model in some time and is looking to open its doors again soon, the team at Dähler is serving up quite a bit of excitement with the old models.
