The Viper steals the show.
The Nürburgring Nordschleife is the benchmark for all sports cars. Automakers have been battling it out here for decades setting new lap records each year with faster and more powerful cars.
At the end of summer, a record lap time of 7 minutes and 14.64 seconds was set by the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition. Soon after, Dodge returned to the Green Hell with their Viper ACR. During test sessions with GT driver Dominik Farnbacher behind the wheel, the Viper ACR regained the fastest lap title with a time of only 7 minutes and 12.13 seconds.
Dodge released the Viper Nürburgring record lap video to quiet all of the naysayers. In the video, the Viper ACR generates up to 1,300 lbs. of downforce on certain straightaways and achieves more than 1.5 G’s of lateral force.
