The Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Coupe haven’t even hit dealerships yet and there’s already a special edition. Prior to the upcoming 2016 DTM season, Mercedes-AMG is showcasing the C63 Coupe Edition 1 with special graphics, aerodynamic package, wheels, and more to kick things off with a bang.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Coupes will be available as “Edition 1” models right from the get-go and draw inspiration from the new Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM Coupes set to compete in 2016. Two variants will be available with the first being offered only as an S-model, while the second will be available in both S- and non-S forms.
The first Mercedes-AMG C63 S Edition 1 variant wears a Magno Selenite Grey matte paint with yellow film and yellow stripes on the hood, roof, trunk, and lower portion of both sides. The muscular fenders house a set of matte black Performance forged wheels with five double-spoke design and yellow-painted rim flanges. The 9.0J x 19 front and 10.5J x 20 wheels wear custom 255/35 R19 and 285/30 R20 sport tires, and hide a set of ceramic high-performance compound brakes for unrelenting stopping power.
The second Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe Edition 1 model variant is a bit tamer. The yellow stripes on its sibling are shown in graphite grey matte with the forged wheels have a new cross-spoke design with matte black and high-sheen finish. The sport tires and ceramic high-performance brakes are available as an option along with the full range of factory paints.
Both of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe Edition 1 models wear an aggressive AMG Aerodynamics Package. The kit is finished in high-gloss black and features a new front spoiler, side skirts, rear airflow breakaway edges, rear diffuser, and trunk spoiler. The AMG Night Package with high-gloss black parts and chrome tailpipes also comes standard.
Inside, both C63 Coupe Edition 1 models have AMG Performance seats with Nappa leather with the first variant receiving diamond-stitched yellow thread and contrasting yellow stitching on the door panels, arm rests, steering wheel, and beltline. Yellow is also seen in the instrument panel the IWC-design AMG analog clock, and floor mats. Facing the driver is a Performance steering wheel wearing Dynamica microfiber with a flat bottom for greater control and matter carbon center section.
Both Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Coupe Edition 1 models will feature the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engines as their stock counterparts with 476- and 510 horsepower, respectively.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Coupe Edition 1 models will be available at market launch. The Edition 1 models will also be shown at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
