There’s a new king in town.
A lot of aftermarket tuning companies like to lay claim to having the fastest or most powerful version of a certain car. Some truly are, and some are just blowing smoke to drive up sales. Companies even go head-to-head at top speed competitions. edo competition is making a strong case for being the fastest with their newest Porsche Panamera Turbo S.
The new Panamera tuning program for the Turbo S variant from edo competition claims to be the fastest on the market. To become the fastest, the 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that powers the Panamera Turbo S had to be significantly modified.
edo competition took steps to totally revamp the forced induction system in the Panamera tuning program. Both of the standard turbochargers were replaced with larger snails for added boost pressure. The exhaust system was given new manifolds, high-flow catalytic converters, and stainless steel piping with butterfly valves to reduce backpressure. The sound level of the exhaust system can be adjusted by remote control by the driver inside the cockpit. edo competition installed an upgraded air intake system and retuned the ECU system to work with the new modifications and tested the Panamera tuning program on the dynometer for reliability.
The end result of edo competition’s efforts was an output of 700 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 649 lb-ft. of torque from 2,500 – 5,200 RPM; an increase of 150 horsepower and 96 lb-ft. over the stock output. Packed with the new Panamera tuning program, the Turbo S is capable of accelerating to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds, breaks the 124 mph barrier in 11.4 seconds, and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h). That’s super car fast!
In order to handle the intense power created from the new Panamera tuning program, edo competition had to install new wheels along with suspension upgrades on the Turbo S. Both the front and rear axle of the Panamera Turbo S was equipped with lightweight, three-piece carbon fiber look racing wheels with forged centers, hand polished outer lips, and stainless steel bolts. The 22 inch wheels each wear 265/30 ZR 22 front, and 305/25 ZR 22 rear Continental sport tires for better grip. edo competition also lowered the entire car by an adjustable lowering module that can reduce the overall height by up to 30 mm.
The interior of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S by edo competition can also be custom-tailored to individual specifications by the German tuner with fine leather and high quality trims. The entire Panamera tuning program is currently available with the entire process taking four weeks at edo competition’s facilities.
