PUR Wheels may be a Canadian forged wheel brand, but its influence is seen globally. Baan Velgen in the Netherlands just fitted a new set of PUR RS04 forged wheels on a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 and it looks stunning.
The customer car started off as a standard model with a front bumper and rear diffuser from the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera being added prior to coming to Baan Velgen. The Dutch company didn’t go out and give the super car some crazy upgrade program. Instead, they focused on a few simple yet effective modifications that make a big difference visually and from behind the wheel.
To start things off, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 was outfitted with a new set of PUR RS04 forged wheels. The new monoblock five split-spoke wheels are made from forged 6016-T6 aluminum alloy that help keep weight to a minimum without compromising weight for better overall performance.
Each of the PUR RS04 wheels wears a catchy matte black finish that contrasts the factory white paint of the Gallardo and pair nicely with the added carbon fiber parts. Up front, the new PUR RS04 wheels measure 8.5 x 20 while the rear comes in with a staggered 11.0 x 20 setup. New Pirelli P Zero Nero tires measuring 245/30-20 and 295/25-20, respectively ensure traction is never in short supply for the super car.
From there, Baan Velgen decided to tweak the power figures just a tad by installing a new titanium Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust system. The new exhaust sheds 40 lbs. of overall weight compared to the factory unit and optimizes backpressure for the 5.2-liter V-10 to create an additional 15 horsepower and 20 lb-ft. of torque. All that with a masterfully ferocious roar coming from the tailpipes.
While the upgrades aren’t drastic in terms of outright performance and extensive styling, the new PUR Wheels and Akrapovic exhaust give the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 more bite, bark, and flair.
